A wonderful and easy to make bread with lots of dates in every bite. Date bread makes a great healthy breakfast.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 cups dates, chopped
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:

Combine chopped dates, boiling water and baking soda in a bowl. Cover and leave it for at least 20-30 min ( for best result soak the dates in water at night, the day before serving)

Add sugar, eggs and butter in a processor and process.

Mix flour, salt and vanilla extract in another bowl. Transfer date and sugar mixture to this bowl. Stir with wooden spoon until all the ingredients are combined.

Preheat oven at 300 F

Coat two pans with cooking spray and on each pan sprinkle 1 teaspoon flour.

Add batter (equally) into the pans. Bake for 40-45 min until bread turns golden ( you can also check by inserting a toothpick in center, the toothpick should come out clean)

Place the pans on a rack and leave it to cool.

Remove bread from the pans, cut into slices and enjoy ( you can also freeze one bread or send it to someone as a gift)
