Mutabbaq is an Arabic bread with egg and spicy meat filling. Its delicious and can be enjoyed at breakfast, lunch or even at tea time
For Dough
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons Ghee or oil
- Water for kneading
- 2 cups flour
For Filling
- 4 egg (beaten)
- 4 Green Chilies (chopped)
- 1/2 cup oil
- 3 Spring Onion (chopped)
For Mince
- 300 gm Chicken mince
- 1 teaspoon ginger and garlic paste
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- A pinch of turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/4 cup lemon juice (optional)
Directions:

In a large bowl add flour, salt and ghee. Mix well. Start kneading by slowly adding water until the dough is smooth. Leave it for 5 to 10 minutes.

Meanwhile take a pan and add mince, salt, ginger garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and 1/4 cup of water. Cook on medium heat until it is fully cooked.

Make small balls of the same size from the dough. Dust flour on the surface and roll one ball with the rolling pin and make it thin.

Add 2 tbsp of mince in the middle, green chili, spring onion and 1/2 beaten egg on the top. Fold the sides over the filling in such a way that it takes the shape of a cube. Note: Make sure that all the sides are fully sealed

Take a non-stick pan, add 2 tbsp of oil.Fry prepared mutabbaq on medium heat for 3 min on each side until light brown. Cut it into pieces. Prepare all by repeating the same procedure.

Transfer it to a serving plate and serve hot with lemon juice.
